The first thing that became evident to me when I started this project is that everyone’s setup will be different and unique. It would not make sense to produce just one type of fuel pump hanger because it might be overkill for some and fall short for others. By making this hanger modular, we are able to have a drop-solution for purists who simply want to run one aftermarket fuel pump to power their lightly modified Z as well as letting highest-powered Z cars run up to three fuel pumps. In this first batch you will have an option to order your hanger with one Walbro 485 pump, two Walbro 485 pumps or a single Walbro brushless pump. If you want to run other pumps or a custom combination, please message me and I will make it happen.
Top hat design allows you to choose the type of fitting you want to run. For lightly modified vehicles, we can run smaller barbed fittings that connect directly to factory fuel supply and return lines. If you decide to upgrade down the line, the top hat can accept up to an 8AN ORB fitting on supply and return ports. That is a LOT of fuel!
QUICK OVERVIEW:
-Fuel hanger top hat and pump clamps are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum
-Hanger uprights and support are waterjetted from 5052 aluminum sheet
-All aluminum components will be Type II anodized. You will have a choice of two colors for top hat/uprights/clamps: black or red. Please note that all fittings and valves will be black.
-Fuel hanger for 2+0 model will come with a custom Polar Engineering high-flow siphon.
-Electrical bulkhead connector features 4 heavy gauge wires to power fuel pumps and 2 wires for sensor signal. Fuel hanger will come with brand new fuel level sensor and low fuel light thermistor.
-Supply and return ports are machined for 8AN ORB threads. Hanger will come with barbed fittings by default, but can also be ordered with 6AN or 8AN fittings at no additional cost.
-All stainless steel hardware and corrosion resistant clamps. All in-tank hoses are submersible and E85 compatible.
-Fuel hanger will come with fuel pump strainers for pumps of your choice. If you are interested, Holley HydraMat (pictured below) can be installed as an option at extra cost.
-Polar Engineering logo will be laser etched on top hat.
-Fuel hanger will come with detailed installation instructions and schematics as well as personal support from myself.
-Pumps are not included with this hanger. Feel free to send them in for me to install and wire in, or I can source fuel pumps for you at extra cost. If you will need to purchase pumps, please select the corresponding option and I will be in touch
For applications where extreme performance is demanded from installed powerplant, there is an option to install triple fuel pump clamp on this hanger. There are a couple of these triple pump setups already in the wild and they are fueling engines producing around 1200WHP. Triple pump setup is pictured below. Keep in mind that Polar Engineering is the only place that offers triple pump hanger setup and that it retains all factory functions of fuel level sensor and low fuel warning light.
Needless to say, 2+0 hangers are also available with optional clamps to secure Ti Automotive brushless pumps like the BKS-1001-4. These pumps are relatively new on the market and have been gaining popularity now that adequate engine managements systems are available for Z32 platform. The pump comes with an externally mounted speed controller that runs the pump at low speed when engine is idling and gradually turns up the output as engine fuel consumption demands increase with higher rpm and boost. It is important to note that your tuner would need to be familiar with tuning brushless pump setups in order to extract its full potential. If installed and calibrated correctly, a single brushless pump should supply enough fuel for power levels just shy of 900WHP mark. You can see a 2+0 hanger setup with an installed Ti Automotive BKS-1001-4 brushless fuel pump below.
Depending on your preference, hangers are available in two default colors, but any custom color can also be ordered. All aluminum parts of hanger construction are anodized to prevent corrosion and not matter what color you choose, corrosion resistance levels will be the same. You can look over some color options that have been assembled and delivered in the past (below).
Your hanger also arrives with pre-installed wiring harness that features premium grade 12awg stranded copper wire for powering your fuel pumps. Keep in mind that each pump has its own power and ground wire which prevents overloading and overheating the circuit. All wiring on the "in-tank" part of hanger is coated with PTFE insulation and is non-reactive with all known fuel types.
Hoses on the "in-tank" side of hanger feature all fuel safe corrugated construction. There is no chance that your hoses would get kinked and reduce fuel flow.
Lastly, the hanger comes with a brand new hanger to tank o-ring that is also all fuel safe and is a tiny bit thicker as well as softer to provide a superior, leak-free seal. Hanger is secured to a factory Z32 fuel tank with provided stainless steel bolts.
PRICE:
These hangers will be priced at USD 580.00 (USA domestic shipping calculated at checkout) (international shipping is flat rate of $108) per assembly for any combination of options that you choose. This is a full assembly and would fix the fuel supply issues a factory Z32 fuel system has. I feel like this is a reasonable price given the fact that there have not been any cut corners with this project. I design these things out of passion in my spare time. I am not planning to retire after I sell a hanger. If you are at a point where you think you need this setup, you probably looked around and can appreciate that you are getting more features than anything else on the market (even for other platforms) at a lower rate. All hangers will come pre-assembled, pre-wired, with fuel pumps of your choice installed (pumps not included). You have an option to purchase fuel pumps from me, or send your pumps for me to wire in and install. I am looking to offer this as a drop in solution that will take no more than 1 hour to install (with factory fuel lines).
Again, this is first part of Z32 fuel system overhaul and more stuff will be coming out to reliably supply your Z with all the fuel it needs.
